Effects of Passive Modified Atmosphere Packaging on Physico-Chemical Traits and Antioxidant Systems of ‘Dottato’ Fresh Fig

چکیده

Fig is a very perishable fruit with short postharvest life. Low-cost techniques should be employed to reduce fresh fig losses. The purpose of this study was design passive modified atmosphere packaging (PMAP) extend the shelf-life ‘Dottato’ figs stored at 4 °C for 21 days. Physico-chemical traits and enzymatic non-enzymatic antioxidant systems were evaluated. Storage in PMAP reduced losses weight as well maintained physico-chemical nutraceutical such polyphenol flavonoid contents activity figs. oxidative stress, inducing activities enzymes ascorbate peroxidase catalase, involved reactive oxygen species scavenging. A reduction browning process due oxidase guaiacol observed samples. Multivariate analysis indicated that storage conditions time affected responses qualitative traits. suitable delay its decay preserve antioxidative during days cold storage.

Effects of modified atmosphere packaging on microbiological load and physico-chemical properties of barramundi (Lates calcarifer Bloch) fillets at 8°C

Different modified atmosphere conditions with various CO2 concentrations on microbial load (psychrophile, mesophile aerobic and anaerobic bacteria) and physico-chemical properties of barramundi (Lates  calcarifer Bloch) fillets stored at 8°C were compared to determine the best packaging conditions. The gas conditions evaluated were 100% CO2 (M1), 75% CO2/25% N2 (M2), 50% CO2/50% N2 (M3), 25% CO...

Effects of Modified Atmosphere Packaging and Low Temperatures on the Physico-Chemical Changes and Shelf Life of Banana

The postharvest treatments included control, low temperatures (14 and 18°C) and plastic bags with or without perforations. Changes in different physico-chemical characteristics of fruits were studied during storage. The two factor experiment was laid out in completely randomized design with three replications of 10 fruits. Among the physico-chemical parameters, colour, firmness, total weight lo...

Effects of modified atmosphere packaging on some quality attributes of a ready-to-eat salmon sushi

Sushi, a very popular food worldwide became a popular ready-to-eat food selling in supermarkets, but it exhibit distinct features, which are associated with microbiological hazards. Therefore, MAP technology, known to reduce aerobic bacteria in fishery products, was used to improve quality of ready-to-eat salmon sushi in this study. Salmon sushi were packaged with air (control), 50%N2 /50%CO2 (...
